PEI Brownsville Receives Outstanding Quality Award
Pittsburgh Electrical Insulation (PEI) has been awarded Remy International's Supplier Excellence Award for Zero Defects in 2012. The honor acknowledges the status of PEI as an outstanding partner of Remy International during 2012. T.H. "Tip" Paul, PEI President, accepted the award at the Remy International Supplier Day, held annually in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
PEI's Brownsville operations are headed by Ralph Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez recently led an expansion and upgrade of the facility, which is located near the U.S.-Mexico border. Jose Avilla, has impacted quality and service as Quality and Engineering Manager.
Remy International is a manufacturer of starter motors, alternators, and hybrid motors for automotive, commercial truck, and off-road vehicle applications worldwide. The company has 6,500 employees working in 11 countries on four continents. Remy International was known formerly as DELCO (Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company) and was a division of General Motors for more than 75 years. The company is headquartered in Pendleton, Indiana, near Indianapolis."Remy's standards are very high, so this award is an acknowledgement of our growth as a quality supplier, especially the team members in our Brownsville, Texas facility," said Mr. Paul. "Their willingness to learn, and to improve quality practices have enabled us to become a valuable member of Remy International's supplier network. This recognition has inspired all our employees throughout the company."
PEI is a manufacturer, distributor, and converter of electrical insulation products, including mica products, polyimide film, and other high-performance electrical insulation materials for demanding high-load electrical systems in automotive, power generation, transportation, mining, off-shore drilling, and other heavy industries. Founded in 1947, the company is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with additional locations in Brownsville, Texas and Beijing, China.
