Announcement - Bill Simpson's Retirement This Year & Appointment of His Successor, Lance Crow

It is with mixed emotions that we are announcing the retirement of Bill Simpson, our Managing Director and Global Sales Manager, marking the end of a 40-year career in the Electrical Insulation industry, effective January 1, 2018. Although we all will miss Bill in the office on a regular basis, he has well-earned the opportunity to enjoy this next chapter of his life that will be filled with more leisurely travel with his wonderful wife, Katherine.

As many of our clients and friends know, Bill began his career in the electrical insulation business back in 1978 while working with Earl B. Beach and he then went on to Brownell Electro in 1983. After Essex bought Brownell Electro in 1988, Bill worked with Essex until the new millennium rang in and he went to work as an Independent Rep in the year 2000 for Xamax. From 2002 to 2007, he worked at Dolph and then briefly went back to Essex in 2007 before joining PEI in 2008. We are honored that he has chosen to spend the last decade of his career here at PEI by building our client base and identifying solutions to a variety of issues with a customer-first mindset, even working directly with our customer's other suppliers and personally performing training on these cutting edge solutions to their satisfaction.

Effective immediately, Lance Crow will be taking over the majority of Bill's responsibilities in his role as Managing Director and Global Sales Manager. Lance has ~30 years of experience himself in the electrical insulation industry, beginning with Stimple and Ward back in 1989 as a Sales Manager, then working as a Sales Manager at Isovolta from 1994 to 2006, and as a Vice President at Von Roll from 2006 to 2017 in a Global Sales & Product Line Management prior to joining PEI as a Managing Director in April of 2017.

Friends of Bill and PEI will be welcome to attend a dinner celebrating Bill's retirement on Thursday, February 8th at the LeMont Restaraunt located in downtown Pittsburgh's Mt. Washington overlook.
